Leica to expand London Premises with new premium retail developments

Leica Camera Ltd has launched their new premium retail concept with the expansion of its premises in Bruton Place to three buildings in the heart of the UK Capital. Currently under construction, and scheduled to open in Spring 2012, the new site at 27 Bruton Place, located in London’s swish Mayfair district adjacent to Berkeley Square, draws inspiration from the Apple and Paul Smith Store concepts and will offer Leica customers an array of facilities.

Clients will be greeted at street level by a café-style area which will provide an informal, yet relaxed atmosphere for the Leica Client Care team to give personal user advice and assistance in a unique environment. This will sit adjacent to a dedicated glass-partitioned laboratory where light repairs and sensor cleaning will be undertaken. Venturing further across the ground floor of the building, customers will find a rental service for the Leica S2, named Rental-S, which will supply equipment to some of the most influential international professional photographers.

The forthcoming site will encompass a second Akademie space, allowing the company to offer a wider range of training workshops, one-to-one product demonstrations, advice sessions and private Leica to expand London Premises with new premium retail developmentsconsultations for its customers. Courses on offer at the Leica Akademie, which is currently based at Leica Store Mayfair, include creative, holiday, and black & white photography, as well as classes tailored to the Leica M9 and S2 cameras. In addition, Leica will open a dedicated Media Centre, where members of the press will be able to hold meetings and interviews with Leica representatives.

However, at the summit of the new acquisition in Bruton Place lies an architecturally beautiful open space and gallery which will be home to a discreet professional photographic studio, named Studio-S. This will be available exclusively to photographers using the Leica S-System who will also have access to additional support in the form of Leica-trained photographic assistants. The facility is equally perfectly located for high-profile or confidential shoots.

The company launched their existing Leica Store Mayfair at 34 Bruton Place along with the Leica M9 model, the smallest full frame digital camera in the world, just over two years ago on 09.09.09, and offers the entire range of Leica photographic and optics products. It will continue to do so once the new retail site has opened.
