The Culinary Offerings at Rosewood Hong Kong to Welcome the Year of the Dragon

Rosewood Hong Kong is ringing in the Year of the Dragon in style, with the unveiling of finely prepared traditional desserts, plentiful gift hampers and delicious celebration menus at the Michelin-recommended Cantonese restaurant The Legacy House and the international all-day restaurant Holt’s Café.

Rosewood Hong Kong presents the latest Chinese New Year Collection to wish guests a prosperous and auspicious Year of The Dragon.

The hotel's Chinese New Year Candy Box

These delicious interpretations of traditional delicacies are crafted by Chinese Executive Chef Li Chi Wai and include Conpoy Turnip Cake (600g at HK$318 / 900g at HK$428), Chinese New Year Pudding (720g at HK$318 / 1kg at HK$428), mixed Conpoy Turnip Cake and Chinese New Year Pudding set (HK$598) and three types of Chinese New Year hampers, Joy Hamper (HK$2,388), Prosperity Hamper (HK$3,388) and Longevity Hamper (HK$9,988).

Rosewood Hong Kong has also partnered with the local design studio EDITECTURE to upcycle used glass bottles within the hotel and plastic, repurposing them into enchanting portable lamp gift boxes.

As a testament to Rosewood Hong Kong’s commitment to reducing environmental impact, each eco-friendly gift box is meticulously crafted from FSC-certified papers and soy ink. Customers can enjoy 10% early bird orders until 15 January. The redemption period for these orders will be from 29 January until 8 February 2024.

Chinese New Year at the Michelin-recommended The Legacy House
The Legacy House, helmed by Chef Li Chi Wai, is celebrating the Year of the Dragon by offering a traditional culinary celebration experience in either the main dining room or a more intimate affair in one of the seven private dining rooms for up to 16 people.

The celebratory Prosperity Poon Choi dishA quintessential Chinese New Year dish designed for sharing includes Fu Gui Chicken, a classic Chinese dish that symbolises fortune and prosperity, priced at HK$1,688 for 8 to 10 guests, as well as a decadent Prosperity Poon Choi with fifteen meaningful ingredients such as fish maw and sea cucumber, priced at HK$4,888 for six guests.

Both may either be enjoyed in The Legacy House dining room from 7th – 16th February 2024 or pre-ordered from the online shop for self-pick-up.

The Legacy House’s 8-course Chinese New Year Delights dinner menu is priced at HK$2,980 per person and features some of Cantonese cuisine’s finest and most coveted ingredients, from Double-Boiled Fish Maw Soup with Sea Whelk, Bamboo Pith and Young Coconut and Stewed Razor Clams with Bamboo Shoot and Salted Lemon to the Braised Rice with Abalone and Diced Chicken.

There is also an alternative Chinese New Year Delights set dinner menu priced at HK$2,380 per person, featuring Double-Boiled Partridge Soup with Sea Whelk, Dried Mussel and Chinese herbs, Steamed Spotted Garoupa Fillet with Rice Noodles and Termite Mushrooms, and Braised Chinese Cabbage Roll with Fried Fish Curd and Black Moss, among other sensational offerings.

Select dishes from both set menus are also available a la Carte for this exclusive dining period, complemented by enticing newly introduced Chinese New Year Specials such as Braised Stuffed Citrus with Shrimp, Pork, Sun Dried Oyster and Black Moss (HK$298) and Chilled Yellow Croaker with Soy Bean Sauce (HK$480), among others.

For lunch, guests are invited to partake in the cherished dim sum tradition with a celebratory Chinese New Year twist. The Chinese New Year Dim Sum Menu showcases reimagined favourites, including the delectable Baked Salmon Puff Pastry with Cheese (HK$108/3pc), Pan-Fried Wagyu Beef Dumpling with Termite Mushroom (HK$128/3pc) and Steamed Lobster Dumpling with Egg White and Caviar (HK$168/person), and much more.

Throughout February, Holt’s Café will be offering a celebratory A Taste of Traditional Canton Chinese New Year 4-Course Lunch Menu at HK$568 per person. This special menu features dishes such as Treasure Seafood Soup with Fish Maw, Abalone and Sea Cucumber, Wok-Fried Sole Fillet with Black Bean Tangerine Peel Sauce, and Jasmine Rice.

In addition, Holt’s Café is also offering A Taste of Traditional Canton Chinese New Year 4-Course Set Dinner Menu at HK$638 per person, including dishes like Salted Egg Yolk Fried Shrimp Ball and Braised Abalone with Goose Feet and Broccoli.
